Kayak Fishing

Kayak Anglers will find the Indian River Lagoon offers a diverse selection of game fish to try for with a variety of baits and lures being effective. Different species will require different techniques and baits. The Lagoon has the highest biodiversity of any estuarine ecosystem in North America, including over 700 fish species. For this reason, the Indian River Lagoon system is one of the top fisheries in the country. Species include Seatrout, Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Mangrove Snapper, Black Drum, Flounder, Bluefish, Pompano, Sheepshead, Whiting, and the list goes on. We provide everything you need for a great day of fishing, including a best in class rods and reels that are perfectly rigged for this type of fishing. We use live bait, lures, and even cut-up bait when needed. We provide as much or as little assistance as you need. We got you covered from casting to landing a fish and everything in between. Our goal is to make your angling experience the safest and most enjoyable outing regardless of your skill level. Catch a couple of good ones, and we might just have ourselves a fish fry. Tight lines and lets get out on the water, those fish won't catch themselves

Morning on the Kayak

The day begins with a shoving away from the shoreline. The initial feeling of skimming above the water’s surface catches you by surprise. The feeling of weightlessness, gliding, and free movement gives you a sense of freedom and relaxation you have never experienced before. As you begin to pedal, you’ll listen to the water breaking across the bow and rippling along the side of the kayak as the water passes you by. You notice the deep blueness of the sky, the cotton-like dimensions of clouds, the yellow, purple and orange burst of light through the clouds and tops of the tree. And then in awe you watch the rising of the sun in all her glory…singling a new day begins. The whole scene is mirrored on the water right in front of you, it’s just simply breathtaking. No words can truly describe the scene. You eye catches a pelican diving for mullet and the osprey flies over with a meal in the strong grip of his talons. As you look out over the distances, you notice a breaking of the water’s surface, and suddenly the beak and dorsal fin of a dolphins appear as they roll into the blue green water. You continue pedaling your kayak when you then notice a huge boil of water rising to the surface. It’s the “gentle giant” of the lagoon making an appearance, a manatee and her cub say good morning. Don’t be surprise if she noses your kayak as they are quite curious and friendly animals. Yes indeed, its morning on the Indian River Lagoon…awe-inspiring and magical, it’s truly Living Waters. There is no better way to enjoy it than on pedal kayak with family or friends. We would love to guide you on Fishing, Eco or Island tour.
